AINTENANCE
The antenna should be examined once a week. These checks should be made with the antenna powered
off. Check to make sure that a satellite pass is not in progress and that a pass will not start during these
checks.
a.
Check for wear or cracking of the drive belts.
b. Check for wear of the wiring harness (excessive rubbing or fraying of the harness braid).
c.
Check the balance of the antenna. Does the dish drift if placed at 0, 45 or 90 degrees elevation? Does
the cross-level beam remain level while the elevation angles are being tested?
d. Rotate the dish in azimuth and elevation; feel for resistance and listen for any popping sounds from
the bearings.
e.
Turn on the power to the antenna and verify that when power is turned on, the antenna moves to
the following position:
•
Level cage goes fully counter-clockwise and returns to level.
•
Elevation moves to 45° above level.
•
Cross-level moves to 90° (level position).
•
Azimuth moves to home position (6003AL only).
