3 CF Series Scanner:
Installation and Set-Up
This appendix describes all that is required to properly install the CF Series
Scanner and set it up for use.
Environmental Concerns
The following environmental conditions must be controlled to insure acceptable
working conditions for the scanner:
•
Site
•
Airflow
•
Ambient Light
•
Vibration
•
Temperature
•
Humidity
The acceptable parameters for each environmental condition are explained in the
next sections.
Site
The site has to be relatively dust free. Dust can degrade the quality of scans
by dirtying and scratching the scanning window and the white background
located on the underside of the lid of the scanner. Dust may also invade the
scanner and settle on the lenses of the cameras or clog the filters.
Airflow
There must be at least one foot of clearance at the rear of the scanner to allow
for proper airflow. Do not place the scanner near a heating panel or vent.
Ambient Light
In order to keep the light uniform on the document being scanned, direct
sunlight should not fall on the unit.
