Parameter Control Keys - Green
The green keys, shown in Figure 2-5, are used to set the parameters for the
scanning process.

The Parameter Control Keys
The parameter control keys are described in more detail in the sections
that follow.
The Speed Key
The Speed key lets you select between the five possible data throughput
speeds for the CF Series scanners. The five possible speeds are full, half,
quarter, 8th, and 16th and the factory default speed at startup is full.
1. Press Speed once to change the scan speed.
The current speed is shown in the keypad display above the Speed key.
2. Press Speed again to change it to the next speed.
Full speed provides the greatest data throughput. Other speeds cut the
data rate by half, quarter, 8th and 16th to accommodate host
configurations that cannot handle the fast data rate.
NOTE: The Speed key cannot be switched while the scan is taking place.
The Positive/Negative Image Key
The Pos/Neg key determines whether the image scanning polarity is
positive or negative. Positive image scanning polarity means that a
positive image will be read in as a positive image-that is, dark marks on
light background. Negative image scanning polarity means a positive
image will be read in as a negative image-that is, white marks on dark
background. When viewing or printing the resultant image file in both
cases, background is output as white marks, while data is output as black
marks. In other words, the negative polarity setting will reverse the way
