Scanner Control Key - White
The Scan key, colored white and shown in Figure 2-4, starts and stops the
scanning process.

The scanner control key works differently depending on whether the
scanner is in automatic mode or manual mode.
The Scan Key
This key toggles the scanning process between off and on. That is, it starts
and stops both the collection of data and the document transport system.
•
When the scanner is set to automatic mode, and a document is loaded,
the LED on the Scan key will blink to indicate that the scanner is
"Ready." Then, when Scan is pressed, the document transport system
starts immediately, and the collection of scanned data begins as soon
as the document starts moving across the scan window.

When the scanner is in manual mode, the Scan LED is off-whether or
not a document has been loaded. When Scan is pressed, both the
document transport system and the collection of scanned data begin
immediately.
