The Options Key
The Options Key-Opt-is used in combination with both the
Up Arrow
or
Down Arrow
keys and the Settings Keys (A, B, C, and D) to select
certain scanner options. These options include the following.
1. Data Format: GRAY(scale) or BINARY or Exit
The Data Format option lets you select either Binary or 8-bit grayscale
data. The Data Format selection also determines whether or not data
will undergo Thresholding and pass through the Binary Filter.
2. Autocalibration: PROCEED or Exit
The choices for the Autocalibration option are between proceeding with
autocalibration or exiting.
The Autocalibration function calibrates the scanner's camera system,
without the need for a local diagnostic terminal.
3. Reboot Scanner: PROCEED or Exit
The choices for the Reboot Scanner option are between proceeding or
exiting. Proceeding will reboot the scanner from the boot-up
parameters stored in the NVRAM.
4.
Save Parameters: PROCEED or Exit
The choices for the Save Parameters option are between proceeding or
exiting. Proceeding saves the current parameter settings (as displayed
across the keypad display at the time of the save) to internal scanner
memory (NVRAM), making these parameters the new default settings at
power-up.
The Options Key and Settings Keys are colored gray and shown in Figure
2-8.
