To choose another option, you must press the OPT key again and the letter
key of the new option. The following is a list of the available options and
their possible parameter values.
Data Format Option Choices
The Data Format option lets you select either Binary or 8-bit grayscale
data. The Data Format that you select must match the Data Format that is
expected by your scan server. The Data Format selection also determines
whether or not the Thresholding function and the Binary Filter will be
employed, since neither of these features affect 8-bit Grayscale data.
The keypad display alternately shows the possible parameter values for
this option: "A: GRAY," "B:BINARY," and "Opt: Exit."
•
Grayscale
The Grayscale Data Format will pass through the Contrast
Enhancement Filter, but will bypass both Thresholding and the Binary
Filter, to produce 8-bit grayscale output data. Press A to select
GRAY-Grayscale Data Format.
•
Binary
The Binary Data Format will pass through the Contrast Enhancement
Filter, and then proceed first through Thresholding, and then through
the Binary Filter, to produce thresholded 1-bit binary output data.
Press B to select BINARY-Binary Data Format.
•
Exit
Press Opt to Exit selection mode.
NOTE: The Data Format may also be changed through host software, such
as ScanServ. Such software employs Host Protocol commands that
override keypad settings.
CAUTION: The Data Format you select must be the Data Format
expected by your scan server (host configuration).
Autocalibration Option Choices and Procedure
Autocalibration allows you to calibrate the scanner's cameras-adjusting
the, exposure time, and pixel gain-without using a local diagnostic
terminal. This calibration is sometimes necessary to compensate for the
changing intensity of the scanner's lamps over time.
