The MAC (Media Access Controller) Address filter option is used to control network access based on the MAC Addresses of
network adapters (network access cards, etc.) A MAC address is a unique ID assigned by the manufacturer to each network
adapter. You can configure this feature to ALLOW or DENY network/Internet access.
In the
MAC Filtering Rules
section, you can create and edit Network filter rules. This maximum number of rules you can
create is 24.
You can configure the following parameters:
Configure MAC Filtering:
From the drop down list, you can select Turn MAC Filtering OFF, Turn MAC Filtering ON
and ALLOW computers listed to access the network, or Turn MAC Filtering ON and DENY
computers listed to access the network .
Checkbox:
Check the box on the left side to enable the Network Filter.
MAC Address:
Enter the MAC address you would like to use in this filtering rule.
DHCP Client List:
Select a DHCP client from the Computer Name drop-down menu and Click << to copy that
MAC Address.
Schedule:
The schedule of times when the Network Filter will be enabled. The schedule may be set
to Always, which will allow the particular service to always be enabled. Click the New
Schedule button to create your own times in the Schedules page.
Click the
Save Settings
button to accept the changes.
Click the
Don’t Save Settings
button to discard the changes.
