Setting Powerdown
POWERDOWN
enables the validator to shut itself off after a user-set
period of inactivity. It can be set to
OFF
or
TIMER
.
POWERDOWN
must be
set to
TIMER
in order to turn off automatically after a set time period.
The time period can be between 1 and 120 minutes.
To set Powerdown:
1. In the
SETTINGS
menu, use ¶ and Ä to highlight
POWERDOWN
.
Press
ENTER
.
On the
POWERDOWN
screen, the
TIMEOUT MODE
box is highlighted.
2. Press
F1
to change the value. The options are
OFF
or
TIMER
.
3. Either:
Select
TIMER
and proceed with steps 4–10, or
Select
OFF
and press
ENTER
to return to the
SETTINGS
menu.
4. Press Ä to move to the
TIMEOUT
box.
5. Press F1 to erase the value.
6. Press
¶
and
Ä
to scroll through digits 0–9. When the desired digit
is displayed, use © to move to the next digit.
7. Again press ¶ and Ä to scroll through the digits.
8. To go back and make changes, use § .
9. When the desired digit is displayed, press
ENTER
.
10. Press
ENTER
again to accept the changes and go back to the
SETTINGS
menu.
Calibration The calibration setting is PIN protected. Calibration should be done
only by an authorized person in a controlled environment. For more
information on calibration, see Appendix A Calibration.
SETTING VALIDATION
PARAMETERS Once the electrical connections are made and the validator is turned on,
the display must be set to the desired validation parameters. These
parameters typically include:
• Setting pressure units
• Zeroing the display
• Turning the 24 V power on/off

Setting Pressure Units
To set pressure units in any task mode other than Basic or Advanced,
refer to Figure 4-9 and proceed as follows:
