Arrow Keys

Function (Soft) Keys
The function keys,
F1
,
EXIT
, and
F2
, are located immediately below the
display panel. Use these keys to select menu options when a soft box
menu is displayed. See Display Panel on page 3-2 for an explanation
of soft boxes.
Hard Keys The hard keys, located on the left side of the control panel, operate the
validator’s task, setup, and memory functions (Figure ). For example,
the hard keys are used to select task modes and set Task mode
parameters, Setup parameters, and Store mode parameters.
Some of the hard keys have extensive menu options that are listed on
the display panel after you press the key. Table 3-3 gives an overview of
each hard key function. Table 3-4 through Table 3-10 list menu options
for each key.

Arrow Key Uses
1. Select from a list of options

to highlight options listed in the display panel. When the desired option is
highlighted, press
ENTER
to select it.
2. Move between pages of options
If there is more than one page of options in a menu, as shown by an arrow at the top or bottom
of the display panel, use

to move up or down a page.
3. Enter alphanumeric data
Some task modes require you to enter alphanumeric information. Use
¶
and
Ä
to scroll through
the numbers or alphabet. When the desired digit is displayed, use
©
to move to the next position.

to go back and make any changes. When the desired display is shown, press
ENTER
.
4. Select menu options
Use
ENTER
with the arrow keys to select menu options in all menus.
Key Function
F1 Enter the menu in the left soft box.
F2 Enter the menu in the right soft box.
EXIT Exit present display screen and return to previous display. Used for
all menus.
Hard Key Function
SETUP
Sets the validator’s configuration parameters and shows battery level
ZERO
Sets the input and output values or internal sensor (depending on the
task mode) to zero
INPUT
Sets the input units. In Advanced mode, several options are available.
In other modes,
INPUT
selects units of pressure. Not active in Basic
Task mode.
TASK
Sets the task mode for validation tests. There are eleven pre-
configured task modes and ten user-definable task modes.
OUTPUT
Sets the output units and power source (i.e., 24 V on or off). In
Advanced mode, several output options are available. Not active in
Basic Task mode.
STORE
Saves a validator display or file, depending on how the Store mode is
configured. Store mode is configured in the
SETUP
menu.
RECALL
Recalls a stored screen or datalog file, depending on how
STORE
is
configured in
SETUP
. Also used to download files to a computer. Use
the arrow keys to scroll through memory locations.
