Hardware Functions
1. In the
SETUP
menu, use ¶ and Ä to highlight
BACKLIGHT .
Press
ENTER
.
2. On the
BACKLIGHT
screen, the
MODE OF OPERATION
box should be
highlighted. Press F1 to change the value. The options are
ON
,
OFF
,
and
TIMER
.
In
ON
mode, the backlight stays on.
In
OFF
mode, the backlight is off.
In
TIMER
mode, you set the backlight shut-off time.
3. Press
Ä
to move to the
TIMEOUT
box.
4. Press
F1
to erase the value.
5. Press ¶ and Ä to scroll through digits 0–9. When the desired digit
is displayed, use © to move to the next digit.
6. Press the ¶ and Ä cursors to scroll through the digits.
7. To go back and make changes, use

.
8. When the correct display appears, press
ENTER
.
9. Press
ENTER
again to accept the changes and go back to the
SETUP
menu.
Store Mode
STORE
mode sets the memory configuration of the validator. The options
are
NONE , SNAPSHOT ,
and
DATALOG
.
•
NONE
: No store mode is selected.
•
SNAPSHOT
: Takes a snapshot of the display. The validator has 20
memory locations. When all locations are filled, the system goes
to the first location and begins overwriting the content. For more
information on using Snapshot, see Section 8 Using the Store
Function.
•
DATALOG
: Enables the validator to manually or automatically log a
display when the
STORE
key is pressed. The data are stored in a
file that must be set up by the user. These files can be downloaded
to a personal computer. For detailed information on using
Datalog, see Section 8 Using the Store Function.
To set the
STORE
mode, refer to Figure 4-2 and proceed as follows:
