The reliable function of the Double Sheet Detector depends to a great degree on the correct
mounting of the sensors. The following mounting rules should be followed:
The sensor pair can be mounted in any direction. Transmitter and receiver must be installed
aligned opposite to each other. The use of a short C-frame is ideal. It provides a good stability and
guarantees a constant distance between transmitter and receiver.
On the rear side the sensors have a mounting thread M30 × 1.5 mm for mounting at holders of all
materials. If the sensors cannot be mounted by means of the mounting thread, they can be fixed by
clamping at the front sleeve, but only by clamp holders made of plastic material.
If the sensors are mounted protruding, care
must be taken that the running coil cannot
damage the sensors. If necessary, the
sensors must be protected with additional
shields (×) from damage by incoming
sheets.
Recessed mounting of the sensors must be
avoided, because dirt and shavings can
accumulate on the sensor surfaces and
result in reduced measurement security.

recommendation for a sensor holder.

Attention
If the sensors are mounted by clamping at the front sleeve, no metallic
holder may be used, because the sensor performance can be
considerably reduced.
During the measurement no moving metallic parts should be
present within a radius of 80 mm of the sensor center.
The mounting position must be selected, so that the sensors can be easily changed. Care must be
taken that the once set sensor gap can be easily reproduced in case of sensor change. Only then a
renewed Teach-In of all parameter sets can be avoided.
