Make a printer test (service function 09, mode 0; see page 2-32). Is the
printout normal?

• Check that the charge corona wire is clean and that it is
installed correctly in the V-slots of the endblocks.
• Clean the laser optics carefully with a blower brush or soft dry cloth.
• Clean the scanner optics and exposure glass.
• Check the SBU output and check scan line alignment (see pages 3-12
and 3-13).
• Change the fluorescent lamps.
Make a printer test (service function 09, mode 0; see page 2-32). Is the
printout normal?

• Clean the transfer and charge corona wires.
• Clean the quenching lamp.
• If the problem remains, clean the laser optics carefully
with a blower brush or soft dry cloth.
• Clean the exposure glass and scanner optics.
• Change the fluorescent lamps, especially if bands appear only on the
sides of a copy made in copy mode.
