RDMS with -EN Option
17.1 Overview
This appendix describes how to operate a 3U Rack-Mount RDMS
TM
Telemetry Receiver with the -EN (EVTM)
option (Ethernet via Telemetry). The RDMS recovers EVTM encoded data and converts it from serial streaming
clock and data back to the original Ethernet packets.
EVTM encoding and decoding is required at both ends of a link for operation. The 3U three channel transceiver can
support bidirectional data from a single piece of hardware.
The following diagrams describe the differences between a standard three channel 3U RDMS receiver, the same
receiver with the EN option, and the three channel transceiver with the EN option.
Figure 341 illustrates the standard 3U three channel receiver configuration.

When the EN option is added to the standard 3U three channel receiver, the it can receive EVTM downlink data, as
shown in Figure 342. There is no EVTM uplink. No additional configuration is necessary.
