Maintenance 

7.3.2

 

Clutch 

Check the following during any inspection:  

•

 

Check clutch basket, hub, sintered disk for cracks 

•

 

Check spring tongues for wear 

•

 

Check housing lugs for wear 

•

 

New sintered lining 

 

3.40 mm (0.13”) 

•

 

Replace at   

 

 

3.00 mm (0.12”) 

Installation 

•

 

Make sure that the star shapes of the multiple-disk clutch sintered disks are 
aligned if possible.  

•

 

Lightly grease the gear teeth and move the clutch disks back and forth on 
the drive shaft until the hub moves smoothly on the shaft, remove excess 
grease. 

•

 

No grease should get on the clutch linings.
