ENJOYING CD-G KARAOKE
The MEP-7000 can p layback CD-G discs and out p ut images to an exte r nal monito r (MONITOR OUT) fo r Ka r aoke p lay.
SELECT CD-G PLAY MODE
To p lay a CD-G disc, it is necessa r y to use the UTILITY sc r een to set
the CD-G p lay mode.
1 Press the UTILITY button.
2 Press the [CD-G] function button.
The CD-G setting menu will a pp ea r .
3 Select [CD-G MODE], and press the select (

) down button.
4 Use the rotary selector dial to select [ON], then press the
rotary selector dial.
The LOAD A/B buttons will flash blue, and the cente r dis p lay
will show the [ CD-G MODE ] indicato r .
TO PLAY A CD-G DISC
1 Press the LOAD A or LOAD B button.
The selected cont r olle r ’s
LOAD
button will change to lighted
blue.
2 Insert a CD-G disc into the drive corresponding to the lighted
LOAD button, and use the TRACK SEARCH button to select
the desired track.
CD-G disc p lay will begin, and the image will be out p ut to the
dis p lay.
Key control
When the
PITCH BEND
button is pr essed, the key ( p itch) can be
adjusted. Each half-ste p can be adjusted in six stages.
Vocal cancel
Vocal audio can be canceled by pr essing the MASTER TEMPO
button, thus allowing o r dina r y music CDs (CD-DA) to be used fo r
ka r aoke p lay.
Audio switching
Each time the TEMPO r ange button is pr essed, the audio out p ut
switches as follows:

TO CANCEL CD-G PLAY MODE
1 Press the UTILITY button.
2 Press the [CD-G] function button.
The UTILITY CD-G setting menu will be dis p layed.
3 Select [CD-G MODE] and press the select down (  ) button.
4 Use the rotary selector dial to select [OFF], then press the
rotary selector dial.
The CD-G p lay mode will be canceled. If a disc is cu rr ently
being p layed, p lay will simultaneously sto p .
MEMO
• Du r ing CD-G p lay mode, the UTILITY button’s LED will flash
r ed, and it will not be p ossible to change to the BROWSE, MIX,
o r EFFECT sc r eens. To change to one of those sc r eens you
must fi r st cancel the CD-G p lay mode.

• The CD-G images f r om the cont r olle r being p layed
co rr es p onding to the lighted LOAD button will be visible on the
dis p lay. If a flashing
LOAD
button is pr essed, the cont r olle r on
the co rr es p onding side will switch to the CD-G images being
p layed back.
• If Auto Cue is set to ON when t r ack sea r ch is p e r fo r med,
p layback will ente r the p ause (standby) mode at the beginning
of the sea r ched t r ack.
• If cont r ol co r ds a r e connected to a Pionee r DJ mixe r , the fade r
sta r t o p e r ation can also be used to switch p layback between
cont r olle r A and cont r olle r B.
MEMO
• The disc loaded into d r ive 1 is set fo r cont r olle r A, and the disc
loaded into d r ive 2 fo r cont r olle r B. Othe r designation of the
cont r olle r s is not su pp o r ted.
• In the CD-G p lay mode, p layback is disabled f r om CD-ROM/
DVD-ROM and USB sto r age device.
• In the CD-G p lay mode, Sc r atch and othe r DJ p lay o p e r ations
a r e disabled.
• Images can be out p ut to an exte r nal monito r du r ing disc p lay.
No exte r nal out p ut is p e r fo r med when the UTILITY sc r een is
dis p layed, howeve r .
• The vocal cancel mode is designed to cancel vocal sounds
coming equally both r ight and left s p eake r s. The unit may be
unable to cancel vocals that a r e out p ut f r om only r ight o r left
s p eake r alone.
