BASIC CONTROLLER OPERATIONS
When the cente r dis p lay is used to select a t r ack and the
LOAD A
button is pr essed to load the t r ack, subsequent p lay o p e r ations a r e
p e r fo r med with cont r olle r A (if
LOAD B
button is pr essed, the t r ack will be loaded into cont r olle r B). When a disc is inse r ted, Auto Play
will function.
ABOUT THE DISC AUTO PLAY FUNCTION
If a disc is loaded into d r ive 1, if no t r ack has pr eviously been set in
cont r olle r A, a disc t r ack will automatically be set in cont r olle r A
and p layback will begin automatically.
In the same way, if a disc is loaded into d r ive 2 its t r ack will be set
in cont r olle r B and automatically begin p layback. In the case of
music CDs (CD-DA), the fi r st t r ack will be set; in the case of CD-
ROM/DVD-ROM discs, the fi r st t r ack found by the unit will be set.
Howeve r , if Auto Cue has been set to ON, the unit will not begin
p layback, but ente r the cue standby mode (P. 37).
• Auto p lay is not su pp o r ted when a USB sto r age device is
inse r ted.
TO STOP PLAYBACK AND EJECT DISC
1 During playback, press the play/pause (  ) button, (or, if a
cue point has been set, press the CUE button to perform back
cue), then press the EJECT (

) button.
• Disc r otation will sto p and the disc will be ejected f r om the
slot.
• The p laye r is not equi pp ed with an o r dina r y “sto p ” button.
• The EJECT (  ) button is disabled du r ing disc p layback.
TO PAUSE PLAYBACK
1 During playback, press the play/pause (

) button.
• The

button indicato r and CUE button indicato r will
flash, and p lay will sto p .
• To r esume p layback, pr ess the p lay/ p ause (  ) button
once again. The

button indicato r will light steadily, and
p layback will continue.
• If the jog mode is set to something besides SCRATCH, even
du r ing the p ause mode, inte r mittent sound will be audible
(called “audible p ause”). If you wish fo r no sound to be
audible, lowe r the audio mixe r ’s out p ut level.
• If no subsequent o p e r ation is p e r fo r med fo r a p e r iod of 100
minutes f r om the time the unit is set to the p ause mode, it
will automatically sto p disc r otation. In this event, pr ess the
p lay/ p ause (  ) button to r esume p layback.
ABOUT THE DISC RESUME FUNCTION
Afte r ejecting a disc, if the same disc is once again inse r ted into
the same d r ive, the o p e r ation condition will r etu r n to that in effect
immediately befo r e the pr io r eject, with the exce p tion that jog
b r eak effect and sc r atch effect a r e not r esumed.
If the TRACK SEARCH button is pr essed befo r e p laying the same
disc a second time, p layback will begin afte r p e r fo r ming no r mal
t r ack sea r ch.
• The r esume function does not su pp o r t p lay on USB sto r age
devices.
• The r esume function is su pp o r ted only when the
EJECT
(  )
button is used to r emove a disc.
• Although the r esume function is meant fo r disc media, when
d r ive 1 has been ejected only the state of cont r olle r A will be
r esumed. Likewise, when d r ive 2 has been ejected, only the state
of cont r olle r B will be r esumed. USB sto r age devices and DJ
softwa r e without an eject function will not be r esumed.
FAST FORWARD/FAST REVERSE

Using the SEARCH (

,

) buttons
During playback, press one of the SEARCH (

,

)
buttons.
• Fast fo r wa r d is p e r fo r med while the  button is
de pr essed.
• Fast r eve r se is p e r fo r med while the

button is de pr essed.

Super fast search
While holding one of the SEARCH (  ,  ) buttons
depressed, rotate the jog dial.
• When the dial is r otated while holding one of the SEARCH
(  ,  ) buttons de pr essed, the unit ente r s the su p e r fast
fo r wa r d o r su p e r fast r eve r se mode.
In the case of VBR ty p e music files, sea r ch will be p e r fo r med
at no r mal fast-fo r wa r d and fast- r eve r se s p eeds.
• The sea r ch di r ection follows the di r ection in which the jog
dial is r otated. The
SEARCH
button pr essed has no effect on
the di r ection.
• When the jog dial r otation is sto pp ed, p layback begins.
• If the SEARCH button is r eleased, the fast fo r wa r d/fast
r eve r se mode is canceled.
• In cases othe r than music CD (CD-DA), fast fo r wa r d and fast
r eve r se can be p e r fo r med only within the same folde r .
