When your smartphone locates a signal,
your wireless service provider’s name
appears in the upper-left of the screen and

signal-strength

When you are inside a coverage area, the
signal-strength
icon
contains bars. If
you’re outside a coverage area, the
indicator light flashes red and no bars
appear in the signal-strength icon. In this
situation, consider turning off the phone to
save battery power.

When your phone is off, the

icon appears at the top of the screen and

appears in the upper-left of the
screen. Your phone is not connected to any
mobile network. Although you can no
longer use the phone or the wireless
features such as email or the web, you can
still use Microsoft Office apps and all the
organizer features of your smartphone.
