the basic rate prior the start of the ven-
tricular rapid pacing is restored. Thus, a
rate change during running ventricular
rapid pacing is only temporary. This
allows a ramp stimulation to always be
started with the same rate.
The ventricular rapid pacing mode is
abandoned by pressing the softkey

,
which forces PACE 203H to return to the
Mode Menu (Table 9 on page 35).
After the start of a ventricular rapid pac-
ing stimulation, the lead surveillance in
the corresponding channel is enabled
(see chapter 9.22.2 on page 81). If no
ventricular lead is connected, the error
message:
Ventricular lead disconnected
will consequently appear. Nevertheless,
the impulse emission (with ventricular
rapid pacing rate) will be carried out.
After releasing the softkey labeled
START (Ventricle)
the previous state of the lead surveil-
lance will be restored.
The Pause function (see chapter 1.1 on
page 70) can be used to measure the in-
trinsic ventricular rate. Thus, the Pause
function may assists in determining the
optimal ventricular rapid pacing rate.
As long as the softkey labeled
START (Ventricle)
is pressed, all other keys and dials are
disabled.
9.10.2.1 Ventricular Rapid Pacing
with Ramp Function
PACE 203H provides a function allowing
the application of ventricular rapid pacing
with a ramp function. While the ventricu-
lar rapid pacing is running (Ventricular
Rapid Pacing Running Menu, Table 34 is
shown), turning the
HIGH-RATE
dial
changes the ventricular rapid pacing
rate. This feature allows the user to ma-
nually set a ramp function for ventricular
rapid pacing stimulation.
Note
: PACE 203H ignores any rotation
of the
HIGH-RATE
dial beyond the de-
fined minimum or maximum settings.
