After releasing the softkey labeled
START (Atrium),
now labeled
Running…,
PACE 203H abandons the delivery of
atrial High-Rate stimulation impulses,
and returns to Atrial High-Rate standby.
If the atrial High-Rate stimulation fre-
quency has been changed during
Atrial High-Rate running,
the basic rate prior the start of the High-
Rate stimulation is restored. Thus, a rate
change while running overdrive stimula-
tion is only temporary. This allows a
ramp stimulation to always be started
with the same rate.
The atrial High-Rate mode is abandoned
by pressing the softkey

, which forces
PACE 203H to return to the Mode Menu
(Table 9 on page 35).
After the start of atrial High-Rate stimula-
tion, the lead surveillance in the atrial
channel (see chapter 9.22.2 on page 81)
is enabled. If no atrial lead is connected,
the error message
Atrial lead disconnected
will consequently appear. Nevertheless,
the impulse emission (with the atrial
High-Rate stimulation rate) will be car-
ried out. After releasing the softkey la-
beled
START (Atrium),
the previous state of the lead surveil-
lance will be restored.
The Pause function (see chapter 1.1 on
page 70) can be used to measure the
intrinsic rate of atrial tachycardia up to
rates of about 700 bpm. Thus, the Pause
function assists in determining the opti-
mal atrial High-Rate stimulation rate.
Please note that the atrial rate measure-
ment can be affected by cross-blanking
after ventricular senses.
As long as the softkey labeled
START (Atrium)
is pressed, all other keys and dials are
disabled.
9.10.1.1 Atrial High-Rate Stimulation
with Ramp Function
PACE 203H provides a function allowing
the application of atrial High-Rate stimu-
lation with a ramp function. While the
atrial High-Rate stimulation is running
(Atrial High-Rate Running Menu, Table
31 is shown), turning the
HIGH-RATE
dial changes the atrial High-Rate stimu-
lation rate. This feature allows the user
