2-22 Transferring Device Data
2-22-1 What Is Device Data Transfer?
Device data transfer is used to read a specified number of elements starting from a transfer source
address at a specified time, and write them to memory starting from a destination address.
Multiple device data transfer entries can be set by saving device data transfer setting groups in a de-
vice data transfer table.
For example, assume that the process value (C00000) of the Temperature Controller connected to the
PT is transferred to EM200 in the EM Area in the PLC as shown below. Here, the Temperature Con-
troller would be the transfer source device and the PLC would be the transfer destination device. When
the trigger condition is met (i.e., when address CIO 10.5 turns ON), device data 200 from the Tem-
perature Controller will be transferred to EM200 in the PLC.
As you can see, the Temperature Controller is not connected directly to the PLC, but Temperature
Controller data can be transferred to the PLC through the PT without any special programming.

The device data transfer function consists of the following three elements.
•
Device Data Transfer Setting Table
A device data transfer setting table is used to manage multiple device data transfer setting groups.
Only one device data transfer table can be set in a project.
•
Device Data Transfer Setting Groups
Device data transfer setting groups are used to manage multiple device data transfer entries. Trigger
addresses and the transfer timing or cycle can be set. Up to 10 device data transfer setting groups
can be set in a table.
•
Device Data Transfer Entries
The transfer source address, transfer destination address, and number of elements are set. Up to
1,024 device data transfer entries can be set in each group.
