4-1-1 CQM1H/CQM1 Word Allocation
Number of I/O Words
The number of I/O words for the G730 Interface Unit Master and Expansion
Master can be switched between 1 word and 2 words using the DIP switch. The
number of I/O words set affects the word allocations and number of connected
Slaves. Set the required number of words to suit the Slave I/O type, number of
points, and number of Units.
Up to two Expansion Masters can be connected to each Master. Set a unique
Unit number for each Expansion Master using the DIP switch. Either Expansion
Master can be set as Unit 2, but a Slave address for Unit 2 can only be used for
an 8-point or 16-point Slave. It cannot be used for a 4-point Slave.
If only one Expansion Master is used, set it as Unit 1.
Word Allocation
Word addresses are allocated sequentially from left to right to all I/O and other
mounted units, starting from 001 for inputs (000 is the CPU internal input) and
from 100 for outputs, independent of the Master and Expansion Master Unit
number.
In multiple systems (using multiple Masters), the word addresses are allocated
to the inputs and outputs sequentially from the leftmost mounted unit, indepen-
dent of the system number.
DIP Switch
Set the DIP switch before turning the CQM1H/CQM1 power on. The switch set-
tings are enabled when the CQM1H/CQM1 power is turned on.

The mounting positions of the Master and Expansion Master are not specified
but the wiring must be connected in the order: Master to Expansion Master to
Slave. The I/O addresses are allocated sequentially in the order the Units are
mounted (refer to 4-1-2 Precautions).
