Mode Setting
RUN Mode
The CQM1-TU001 operates normally with sensors connected in this mode. A
sensor module can be selected with the module selector of the CQM1-TU001 in
run mode and the operation of the sensor module can be monitored with the op-
eration indicator and stability operation indicator of the CQM1-TU001.
SET Mode
Sensors can be set or their sensitivities can be adjusted in this mode.
Note Before using the CQM1-TU001, set the mode selector of each sensor module to
RUN.

Note
1. Be sure to perform teaching before use.
2. When the CQM1-TU001 is connected to a sensor unit, operations on the
CQM1-TU001 precede operations on sensor modules.
Maximum Sensitivity Setting
1, 2, 3...
1. Connect the CQM1-TU001 to the CQM1-SEN01.
2. Set the module selector to the number of the sensor module on which teach-
ing will be performed, and the set the mode selector of the sensor module to
RUN.
3. Set the mode setting selector of the CQM1-TU001 to SET.
4. Press the CQM1-TU001 teaching button for approximately 3 s (minimum)
until the teaching indicator changes to red from green.
5. Set the mode selector to RUN to complete the maximum sensitivity setting
of the E3X-MA11.
Note The maximum sensitivity of the Sensor Unit can be automatically set regardless
of the set distance or light reception.
Teaching without a Sensing Object
(Only for Diffusive Reflective Sensor)
1, 2, 3...
1. Place the sensor head in the sensing range of the sensor.
2. Connect the CQM1-TU001 to the CQM1-SEN01.
3. Set the module selector to the number of the sensor module on which teach-
ing will be performed, and the set the mode selector of the sensor module to
RUN.
4. Set the mode setting selector of the CQM1-TU001 to SET.
5. Press the teaching button. The teaching indicator (red) will be lit.
6. Set the mode selector to RUN. If teaching is successful, the stability opera-
tion indicator (green) will be lit. If teaching is unsuccessful, the stability op-
eration indicator will flash. In this case make sure that the optical fiber cable
of the sensor is connected securely, and then change the sensing distance
that has been set and repeat from step 4.
Note The sensitivity of the E3X-MA11 is set to maximum if teaching is performed with
very little light or if the sensor head is not located within the sensing distance. If
stable detection of objects is not possible after teaching, try teaching with a
sensing object as described in the following.
