Change of the focus Camera in the USPM-RU-W
㻌
㻌
As the focus camera in the USPM-RU-W Near-IR Micro Spectrophotometer (hereinafter referred to as the
“
previous
camera”) is no longer available, we have
replaced it with an alternative camera (hereinafter referred to as
the
“new camera”) since November 2016.
This change has no impact on measurement values, although
we’d like to
inform you of the impacts of use of the device, as follows.
Changes during actual usage
1) Trackability of display and automatic gain
The new camera is slower in its response speed for automatic gain. This results in worse trackability of the image
displayed in the FOCUS window for focal control.
The table below lists the response time and display time of the previous and new cameras under the environment at
our facilities.

The time necessary to reflect the automatic gain setting in the camera is measured via software.

The maximum speed is controlled by the software settings.

2) Resolution
The new camera has improved resolution, thanks to increase of its number of pixels. Any dirt or spots on the
sample surface will be more clearly displayed in the FOCUS window.
The pictures below show the observation results of BK7 References under the environment at our facilities.
