Adjusting the copy color quality ("Color Adjust" parameters)
You can adjust the quality of color copies as desired.
There are 10 Color Adjust parameters that can be used in any combination. In addition, you can check the
specified settings by printing a proof copy.

Parameter
Description
Brightness
This parameter can be used to make the image either lighter or darker.
Contrast
This parameter can be used to make the image either crisper or smoother.
Saturation
This parameter can be used to adjust the vividness of the colors in the image.
Red
This parameter can be used to adjust the level of red in the image.
Green
This parameter can be used to adjust the level of green in the image.
Blue
This parameter can be used to adjust the level of blue in the image.
Hue
This parameter can be used to adjust the hue. The hue is divided into red, blue and yel-
low. By adjusting the hue, the image can be made either more reddish or more bluish.
Copy Density
This parameter can be used to adjust the copy density.
Sharpness
This parameter emphasizes the edges of text so that they can be read more easily. In
addition, this parameter can be used to make an overly sharp image softer or a blurry
image clearer.
Color Balance
This parameter can be used to adjust the individual concentrations of yellow (Y), magen-
ta (M), cyan (C), and black (K).

Increasing the red tinge increases the amount of yellow and magenta or decreases
the amount of cyan.
•
Increasing the green tinge increases the amount of yellow and cyan or decreases
the amount of magenta.
•
Increasing the blue tinge increases the amount of magenta and cyan or decreases
the amount of yellow.
•
Increasing the yellow tinge increases the amount of yellow or decreases the amount
of magenta and cyan.
•
Increasing the black tinge increases the amount of black.
