4 Now we will align the Trunk Spans from the Switch side to the Ai Logix
card side. The NFAS configuration requires some very specific alignment
with regard to the D-channel configuration and Ai Logix Card IDs. We
must obey the following rules:
a. The D-channel and Backup of the same Switch Trunk Group must be
connected to the same DP6409 card.
b. The D-channel Trunk Span must be connected to the Top (or left-
hand) port on the DP6409. The Backup must be connected to the
Bottom (or right-hand) port on the DP6409.
c. The D-channel and Backup must be connected to the card with the
lowest Ai Logix Card ID for that Switch Trunk Group.
5 Locate Ai Logix Card ID 0 and align it with the D-channel and Backup of
your first Switch Trunk Group. Follow up the Ai Logix Card IDs along with
the remaining Trunk Spans in the Switch Trunk Group so that the card
IDs align with the Switch Trunk Span Indexes.
