data card
A PeriProducer variable that is the logical storage location for
numbers, characters, or other data.
PeriProducer uses a filing cabinet analogy for variable data; data
cards are grouped in folders.
You can also define a data card as a sub-folder. This lower-level
folder can, in turn, hold additional data cards.

data file
The component file of an MMF that contains vocabulary element
data. Where MMFs are used as vocabulary or CMR files, this is audio
data. Other types of elements that may be stored in an MMF include
fax and TDD data. MMF data files have
.mmd
extensions.
