Corrective action
The range of rotation on homing
the EGR shutoff flap B side
(M53.2) has violated the limit
value. The flap mechanism is
faulty.
1. Check exhaust flap for damage (→ Page 120).
2. Contact Service on detecting any other damage at the exhaust
flap.
1404 – AL Flap Byp A linkage failure

The range of rotation on homing
the bypass flap A side (M52.1)
has violated the limit value. The
flap mechanism is faulty.
1. Check exhaust flap for damage (→ Page 120).
2. Contact Service on detecting any other damage at the exhaust
flap.
1405 – AL Flap Byp B linkage failure

has violated the limit value. The
flap mechanism is faulty.
1. Check exhaust flap for damage (→ Page 120).
2. Contact Service on detecting any other damage at the exhaust

Flap travel is marginally restricted.
1. Check smooth operation of the exhaust flap mechanism.
