8.8.2 Engine oil – Change

Preconditions

Engine is stopped and starting disabled.

Engine is at operating temperature.

MTU Fluids and Lubricants Specifications (A001063/..) are available.

WARNING

Oil is hot.
Oil can contain residue/substances which are harmful to health.
Risk of injury and poisoning!
• Allow the product to cool to below 50 °C before beginning work.
• Wear protective clothing, protective gloves and goggles/safety mask.
• Avoid contact with skin.
• Do not inhale oil vapor.

Draining engine oil from stand-
ard oil pan

1.

Provide a suitable vessel to collect the oil.

2.

Remove drain plug (1) and drain oil.

3.

Insert drain plug (1) and tighten to specified torque using a torque wrench.
