Oil level must be between “min.” (2) and
“max.” (1) marks.
6.
If necessary, top up oil to the “max.” mark (1)
(→ Page 135).
7.
Insert oil dipstick into guide tube up to the
stop.
Checking oil level with engine
shut down (mid sump oil pan)
1.
Stop engine and disable engine start.
2.
After switching off an engine at operating
temperature, wait approx. 5 minutes until the
oil has flowed back to the oil pan.
3.
Remove oil dipstick (1) from guide tube and
wipe it.
4.
Insert oil dipstick (1) into guide tube up to the
stop, pull out after approx. 10 seconds.
5.
Read off the oil level on the side of the oil
dipstick inscribed “ENGINE STOPPED”.
6.
The oil level must be in the cross-hatched
area between the lines marking the upper (2)
and lower (3) limits.
7.
If the oil level is too low, top up to the upper
limit mark (2) (→ Page 135).
8.
Insert oil dipstick into guide tube up to the
stop.
