
Belt drive (version B) – Drive
belt replacement
1.
Cut elastic belt (4) with a suitable tool.
2.
Apply the square drive of a ½" socket wrench
extension to the square hole (1) on the belt
tensioner.
3.
Turn belt tensioner clockwise against the
spring force almost up to the stop.
4.
Insert 8 mm steel pin (e.g. punch) (2) to lock
belt tensioner.
5.
Remove drive belt (3).
Note:
When placing the drive belt in the grooves, no
force must be applied.
6.
Fit new drive belt (3).
7.
Turn belt tensioner clockwise against the
spring force almost up to the stop to remove
the 8 mm steel pin.
8.
Remove 8 mm steel pin.
9.
Relieve belt tensioner and remove square of
½" socket wrench extension.
10.
Make sure that drive belt (3) is correctly seat-
ed in the grooves.
11.
Fit a new elastic belt (4) on the rear grooves
of the generator belt pulley.
12.
Fit the belt on the front grooves of the com-
pression pump belt pulley and tension initially
with assembly jig.
13.
Turn the engine with the barring tool until the
belt fits properly on the front grooves of the
compression pump belt pulley.
14.
Remove assembly jig.
15.
Install cover for belt drive.
