ADF Check
Item Purpose Setting/Precautions
Original Stop
Position
To make a manual adjustment
of the document stop position
and scanning position in each
of the ADF modes.
When “Auto Adjust Stop
Position” is NG.
• 1-Sided Set: Adjust the document stop
position for the first side (-7 mm to +7
mm).
• 2-Sided Set: Adjust the document stop
position for the second side (-7 mm to
+7 mm).
• Feed Set (Common): Adjust the start
position for image scanning (-3 mm to
+3 mm).
Registration
Loop
To adjust the length of the loop
to be formed in paper before
the Registration Rollers.
When a document misfeed
or skew occurs.
• Enter the loop length from the 10-Key
Pad and check for paper passage.
• If a misfeed at times occurs due to a
worn and slippery Document Take-Up
Roller, the loop length may be
increased as a temporary measure
before the part is replaced with a new
one.
• Adjustment range: -5 mm to +5 mm
Auto Adjust
Stop Position
To make an automatic adjust-
ment of the document stop
position and scanning position
in each of the ADF modes.
Upon setup of the ADF
• FD 1-Sided: Adjust the document stop
position for the first side (-7 mm to +7
mm).
• FD 2-Sided: Adjust the document stop
position for the second side (-7 mm to
+7 mm).
• CD: Adjust the start position for image
scanning (-3 mm to +3 mm).
• The adjustment result is displayed (OK
or NG).
Paper
Passage
To check for paper passage
through the ADF in each of the
ADF modes.
Used for checking the docu-
ment path for any abnormal
condition when a document
misfeed occurs.
1. Select the mode and load the docu-
ment in the Document Feed Tray.
2. Press the Start key, which will take up
and feed the document through the
ADF, one page after another.
I/O Check
To check sensors on the paper
path.
When a document misfeed
occurs.
Block and unblock the sensor and check
to see if the input port signal changes
properly.
