CM7/8 System User’s Manual
Functional Description
The Transmitter unit accepts the modulated 70-MHz signal from the Modulator, prepares
the signal for transmission, and delivers it for RF Distribution. While moving through the
Transmitter, the signal goes through a conversion process performed by the first on-board
local oscillator and RXU frequency synthesizer, then the second local oscillator. The
resultant RF signal is further amplified and sent to the output.
Figure 3-3-2 shows a functional block diagram of the Transmitter Unit.
