Note:
If the engine does not brake the
vehicle sufficiently w hile driving on
a dow ngrade, the speed you set on
the cruise control m ay be e xcee d ­
ed and you may have to step on
the brake pedal to slow down. As
soon as the grade eases, the
cruise controlled speed will again
be m aintained as long as the
brakes w ere not previously applied,
or the lever m ay be used to
resum e the previously set speed if
the brakes w ere applied.
Caution!
Moving gear selector lever to
position “ N” sw itches the cruise
control off.
W arning!
O nly use the cru ise control if
the traffic and w eath er co n ­
ditions m ake it advisab le to
travel at a steady speed.
• The use of cruise control
can be d an g ero us on w in d ­
ing roads or in heavy traffic
because con d itio n s do not
a llo w safe driving at a
s teady speed.
• T h e use of cru ise control
can be d an g ero us on slip ­
pery roads. Rapid changes
in tire adhesion can result
in w heel spin and loss of
control.
The “R es u m e ” fun ctio n should
o nly be operated if the driver
is fully aw are of the previously
set speed and w ish es to re­
sum e this p articu lar preset
speed.
