Steering is locked when the key is
withdrawn and the steering lock is
engaged. The key can be w ith
drawn only in position 0.
Warning!
Do not remove key from the
steering lock while the vehicle is
in motion as this will cause the
engagement of the steering lock
thus rendering the vehicle in
operable.

Steering is unlocked.
(If necessary, move steering
wheel slightly to turn the key
clockw ise to position 1.)

defroster, pow er w indows, fro n t
pow er seats, fro n t heated seats,
orthopedic seat backrest, te le sco p
ing steering column.
A warning buzzer sounds when the
driver’s d o o r is opened with the key in
steering lock position 1 orO.
With the engine at idle speed, the
charging rate of the alternator (o u t
put) is limited.
It is therefore recom m ended to turn
o ff unnecessary electrical consum ers
while driving in stop and go traffic.
This precaution helps to avoid drain
ing the battery.
Unnecessary strain on the battery and
charging system may be minimized by
turning o ff the follow ing pow er consu
mers, fo r example:
Heated seats, rear w indow defroster.
