W ith the exterior lamps turned on (except parking
lamps), the symbols on all b u tto n s light up. Each button
shines brighter when pressed.
Note:
The air conditioner rem oves considerable m oisture from
the air during operation. It is normal, if w ater drips on the
ground through openings in the underbody.
Temperature Selection (° C)
The desired tem perature can be adjusted by turning
the tem perature selector. The selected tem perature is
reached as quickly as possible and maintained. A basic
setting of 22° C (72° F) is recom m ended. To avoid un
desirable tem perature fluctuations, a set tem perature
should be readjusted in small increm ents.
To override the autom atic climate control turn the te m
perature wheel to either extrem e end position “ M IN ” or
“ M AX” .
"M IN ” (detent) = peak cooling performance.
The system operates w ith recirculated air, w ith o u t addi
tional fresh air.
“ MAX” (detent) = maximum heating perform ance.
If button @ is pressed with the tem perature se le cto r in
the “ MIN” or “ M AX” position, it will run continiously at a
high speed.

Air Recirculation
Pressing the sym bol-side of the air recirculation
sw itch causes air to be recirculated w ith o u t additional
fresh air and the red indicator lamp to light up. A fte r a
while the air recirculation m ode will sw itch o ff autom ati
cally, including the indicator lamp.
The air recirculation m ode should be used with high or
low outside tem peratures, or to prevent dust or annoying
odors from entering the ca r’s interior. If the w indow s
should fog up from the inside, the air recirculation should
be shut o ff (press opposite side of symbol on switch).
The red indicator lamp should then go out.
Note:
The air recirculation mode will not com e on if button
is pressed.
Function Setting

In this setting, the fresh air supply to the interior of the
car is shut off, (to prevent entrance of odors, i. e. while
driving through tunnels, etc. or to prevent the entrance
of w ater from autom atic car w a sh ). Use this setting only
tem porarily while driving.
