Appendix H – Service Station Maintenance
It is very important that the components within the Service Station receive proper, routine maintenance.
If not you may experience image quality issues and reduced Printhead life.
Service station maintenance may include removing and cleaning the Capping Station and Wiper Motor Assembly.
Cleaning the Service Station Tray and replacing the Wiper Roller.
Service Station Component Identification:
The Service Station consists of three major components. The Capping Station

. The Capping Station

keeps the Printhead hydrated and protected when not in use. The
Wiper Roller

, attached to the top of the Wiper Motor Assembly
[3]
, removes excess ink and debris from the
Printhead. The Service Station Tray
[6]
captures and removes waste ink that is produced during the Printhead
maintenance processes. The Non-Operator Side Bracket
[5]
contains a Siphon Hose that is attached to a pump that is
used to remove the waste ink from the Tray
[6]
. It is important that all of these components are routinely and
properly maintained in order to ensure proper Printhead performance.
