Example 5
The diagram below shows a FieldNET installation with one group of pivot RTUs
A that communicates with Repeater B and a second group of pivot RTUs D that
communicate with Repeater E. Both Repeaters B and E communicate with Base
RTU C. Base RTU C has an omni directional antenna instead of the factory
default whip antenna.
Communication Paths
The pivot RTUs A communicate with the left radio module of Repeater B. The
pivot RTUs D communicate with the left radio module of Repeater E. The Base
RTU C communicates with the right radio module of Repeaters B and D.
Antennas
Pivot RTUs A and D: Factory default directional antenna
Repeaters B and E: Factory default directional and omni directional antennas.
Base RTU D: 12-0428-0 omni directional antenna and 12-1545-0 adaptor cable
ordered separately. To mount the omni directional antenna on a roof a length of
LMR400 or equivalent coaxial cable with one type N male connector and one
type N female connector is required. This cable is not supplied by Lindsay but
can be acquired from a local radio shop.
