Spread Spectrum Installation Guide
The 13-9072-0 SX-R3000 Repeater package contains one 12-0428-0 omni directional
antenna and one 12-1546-0 directional antenna. The most common FieldNET
configuration is to use the omni directional antenna to communicate with pivots and the
directional antenna to communicate with the Base RTU. Antennas for different
Repeater configurations must be ordered separately.
Antenna Descriptions
1 - 13-2018-0 Whip Antenna
–
short range (500’ or less) omni directional antenna
2 - 12-1547-0 Directional Ant. (6dB)
–
medium range directional antenna
3 - 12-0428-0 Omni-directional Ant.
–
use when incoming signals are from more than
one direction and more than 500’ away.
4 - 12-1546-0 Directional Ant. (8.5dB)
–
maximum range directional antenna
Items 2, 3 and 4 require either a 12-1545-0 (Adapter Cable, 24") or a
12-0477-0 (Adapter Cable, 72").
Repeater Installation Verification
Repeaters are tested by meshing a FieldNET RTU to a Base RTU though the Repeater.
This same test can be used if multiple Repeaters are daisy chained together to extend
range.
1. Power up a Base RTU with antenna. Power up all Repeaters to be tested after
installing antennas.
2. Repeaters can either be tested by installing a RTU on a pivot that will use the
Repeater and testing its operation (see section 4.5) or by using a FieldNET RTU to test
the Repeater similar to how the Base RTU was tested in section 4.3. If you are using a
pivot mounted RTU to test the Repeater proceed to section 4.5 and verify that the pivot
mounted RTU can mesh through the repeater(s).
