Printer Setup

CANCELING JOB—
Appears when you cancel a print job.
•
POWER SAVER MODE—
Appears when the printer is in an energy-saving mode.
This mode can reduce the total power consumption of the printer to less than
45 watts. Full power mode is restored when the printer receives a job or when
you press the Menu button and print a page at the printer
Before the printer can print after being in
POWER SAVER MODE
, it needs to warm
up to heat up the fuser. The actual warm-up time depends on how long the
printer has been in power saver mode. If the printer has been in
POWER SAVER
MODE
power saver mode for a long time, the warm-up period will be longer.
Error messages
If there is a printing problem, the Error light will be on, and an error will appear
in the display window. For information about error messages, see Drivers and
Utilities.
Top-level menus
The table below describes the printer’s top-level menus. To scroll through the
menus, press the Menu button on the control panel.
Some of these menus (Parallel Port Setup, Network Port Setup, and Network
Protocol Setup) are used to configure the printer’s initial Setup, which must be
completed before users can send jobs to the printer. For information on
performing the initial Setup from the control panel, see page 6-1.

CHECK AND PRINT
After you check one copy, prints remaining copies or
processed jobs stored on the printer disk. For details,
see Drivers and Utilities.
PRINT PAGES FROM LIST
Printing one of three sample pages, stored in the
printer’s ROM: Configuration page, Job Log, PS Font
list and Test page.
CONSUMABLES
Registering consumables you have replaced. For
details, see the Setup Manual.
