Installing a hard disk drive
The following section explains how to install the 2.1GB hard disk drive on the
Ci1000. It also describes how to initialize the new hard disk drive for use from the
printer’s front panel.
To install the hard disk drive you will need to remove the printer’s video controller
board, install the drive and then replace the video controller board in the printer.
For instructions, see “Removing and replacing the video controller board” on
page 8-1.

• 2.1GB Hard Disk Drive
• Four screws
• Four nylon washers

:
To avoid electric shock ensure your hands are dry before touching the
printer’s power plug.
Caution notes
• Do not drop or bend the hard disk drive.
• Do not touch the hard disk drive connector.
• Protect the hard disk drive from static electricity by keeping it in its anti-static
package until you are ready to install it.
• Avoid exposing the hard disk drive to direct sunlight, high temperatures, or
humidity.
