8.1.1 General mounting advice for encoders with solid shaft
• Check the shafts for offset.
• Protect the tolerance of the compensating element during mounting from too great a degree of
bending and also from damage.
• Align the coupling to the shafts, and screw together without pre-loading.
The connection between encoder and drive shaft should be configured in such a way that it is impos-
sible for the connection to break.
8.1.2 General mounting advice for encoders with hollow shaft
Mounting an encoder with a coupling on a shaft
The following sequence is to be respected during assembly:
1.
Slide the encoder on the shaft.
2.
Screw the stator coupling/torque stop onto the flange of the drive, without pretension.
3.
Tighten the clamping ring to the recommended torque, without pretensioning the stator
coupling/torque stop.
