7.12 Eliminating Copy Marks Along Borders: Frame Center Erase
When the original is scanned from the original glass, black copy marks may be produced along borders and
center line, and also around punch holes. Selecting the Frame Erase or Center Erase mode removes the black
shadow before printing and reduces toner consumption.

You can specify from 0.04 to 11.79 inches (1 to 300 mm) for Frame Erase width and from 0.04 to 3.89
inches (1 to 99 mm) for Center Erase width in 0.04 inches (1 mm) increments.

Frame Erase and Center Erase can be used in combination or separately.

Frame Erase has two options; [Erase/All Sided] to erase the same width on all four sides of the paper
and [Erase/Each Side] to specify the width to be erased for each side.

Position the original.

Both the ADF and original glass are available.
NOTICE
When lowering the
ADF
onto thick original (e.g. open book) placed on the
original glass
, do not press
it down too hard. Keep the
ADF
open, if required.

Press [Application] on the Copy Screen.

Press [Frame Center Erase] on the Application Screen.
Setting options Description
Frame Erase Removes black shadow around the copied image before printing.
Center Erase Removes black shadow in the center of the copied image before printing.
