When using a burner for the first time, wait for a couple of seconds before lighting the gas, to
let the air escape from the tube.
Before the first use, it is recommendable to light the burners on the cook top and let them burn
for several minutes before placing a saucepan in order to burn out various products used in
the manufacture and remove unpleasant smell emitted thereby. In so doing, ventilate the
room.
The burner operation is controlled by turning the knobs on the
control panel (Figure 11). The symbol above the knob indicates the
corresponding burner. Press the knob down and turn it from the
position 0 for ¼ of a circle into position (MAX) then light the
burner by pushing the spark ignition pushbutton. In case of power
outage or wet igniter, the burner can be lighted with a match or
lighter. Hold the knob down for 10 to 15 seconds, as required for the
flame failure device to warm up. If the lighting fails, repeat the same
procedure.
By turning the knob in the same direction, the flame is gradually reduced and finally reaches
the lowest flame position (MIN) .
The positions between 0 and (MAX) are not recommended, because in that case the flame
is unstable and can go off. To turn the flame off, turn the knob in opposite direction. In the
flame goes off accidentally (due to draught, spilled food, etc.), the gas will continue to flow for
some 30 seconds. Then the flame failure device will automatically close the valve and prevent
the uncontrolled gas escape. To place small saucepans safely on the grid, use the auxiliary
pan support (cross-shaped enamelled element) which is included in the delivery.
OVEN OPERATION
Attention !
Risk of burns !
During the operation, the oven gets hot. Be careful not to
touch the heaters inside the oven while in operation !
Depending on the cooker model, the oven is furnished with:
- upper and lower heaters, infrared heater and circular heater
- grate on which the food is placed, either in a pan or directly, eg. meat for grilling
- deep and shallow trays for meat or cake cooking or for grease collection
- shelf guides that are either drawn or made of wire and which are always counted from the
bottom upwards (see the numbers included in the tables below).
Do not place the deep tray on the first guide level except with the
lower heater turned off or for grilling, when the deep tray serves
only for grease collection.
