Insufficient oil in engine oil pan (suck-
ing in air)
Make the oil level to the specified lev-
el. See CHECKS BEFORE START-
ING.
Improper oil is used. (Viscosity is im-
proper.)
Replace oil by referring to METHOD
FOR USING FUEL, COOLANT AND
LUBRICANTS ACCORDING TO AM-
BIENT TEMPERATURE and REC-
OMMENDED FUEL, COOLANT, AND
LUBRICANT.
Oil filter cartridge is clogged.
Replace the cartridge by referring to
EVERY 500 HOURS MAINTE-
NANCE.
Oil is leaked due to improper connec-
tion or breakage of oil pipe or pipe
joint.

Defective monitor
Replace monitor. (*)
Steam spurts out from top of radiator
(pressure valve).
Insufficient coolant, water leakage
Check, add coolant, repair by refer-

Accumulation of dirt or scale in cool-
ing system
Change coolant, flush inside of cool-
ing system by referring to WHEN RE-
QUIRED.
Clogged radiator fins or damaged fin
Clean or repair by referring to EVERY
500 HOURS MAINTENANCE.
Defective thermostat
Replace thermostat. (*)
Loose radiator filler cap (in high alti-
tude operation)
Tighten cap or replace packing.
Defective coolant level sensor
Replace sensor. (*)
Defective monitor
