1.
Open the door on the rear left side of the machine.
2.
Check the reservoir tank (1).
If the coolant level is within the range between FULL and
LOW, the coolant amount is at a proper level.
If the coolant level is below LOW, add coolant to FULL lev-
el through the filler port of reservoir tank (1).
NOTICE
If the reservoir tank is empty, leakage of coolant is
suspected. After checking, repair any abnormality im-
mediately.
REMARK
If the inside of reservoir tank (1) is so dirty that you cannot
check the coolant level, see “METHOD FOR CLEANING
INSIDE OF COOLING SYSTEM”.
3.
Tighten the cap securely after adding.
4.
If the coolant level has been continuously low, check the
coolant level in the radiator.
If the coolant level is low, add Non-Amine Engine Coolant
(AF-NAC) of the same density as the one in the radiator.
5.
To bleed air, start the engine, raise the coolant temperature to approximately 90 °C, and then stop the en-
gine.
6.
After the coolant temperature drops, check the coolant level in the radiator and reservoir tank.
If the coolant level is low, add Non-Amine Engine Coolant (AF-NAC) of the same density as the one in the
radiator.
7.
Check that the hybrid radiator coolant sight gauge (3) is fil-
led with coolant. If it is not filled, remove the radiator cap
(4) for hybrid component, and add coolant up to the level
(a) of sight gauge (5).
NOTICE
• The coolant reservoir tank is a special one for the
engine radiator.
• If the coolant reservoir tank is empty, leakage of
coolant should be suspected.
After checking the engine radiator, hybrid compo-
nent radiator, and their respective coolant pipings,
if any problem is found, ask your Komatsu distrib-
utor for repair.
If no problem is found, check the level of the cool-
ant in the engine radiator and hybrid component
radiator. If it is low, add coolant to each radiator,
and then to the reservoir tank.
• Refilling and draining function of the engine radia-
tor cap (7) may be faulty if coolant level in the res-
ervoir tank is obviously above FULL level all the
time before the engine is started (coolant tempera-
ture is low). Replace the engine radiator cap (7) by
referring to “METHOD FOR REPLACING RADIA-
TOR CAP”.
