This system is capable of supplying power
to all subsystems necessar y for nor mal op-
e r a t i o n o f t h e a i r p l a n e . T h e b a t t e r y a n d
generator switches on the pilot’s left sub-
panel are used to control power from the
b a t t e r y a n d g e n e r a t o r s i n t o t h e a i r p l a n e
electrical system.
The batter y is always connected to the hot
batter y bus (Figure 2-16). Both are located
in the right wing center section. Operation
of equipment on the hot battery bus does not
depend on the position of the battery switch.
The batter y switch, on the pilot’s left sub-
panel, closes a batter y bus tie and a batter y
relay which connect the batter y to the rest
of the electrical system.
The generators are controlled by individual
generator control panels which allow con-
stant voltage to be presented to the buses
during variations in engine speed and elec-
trical load requirements. The load on each
generator is indicated by left and right load-
meters located on the overhead meter panel
(Figure 2-4). A nor mal system potential of
28.25 ±0.25 volts maintains the batter y at
full charge.
This air plane utilizes a multi-bus system.
The main buses are the left and right gen-
erator buses, center bus, triple-fed bus, and
the hot batter y bus. Switches in the cockpit

Equipment on the buses is ar ranged so that
all items with duplicate functions (such as
right and left landing lights) are connected
to different buses. The circuit breakers are
