Step 2. Connect and set up the oscilloscope
The Keysight P9241/42/43A oscilloscopes connect to a host PC using the
oscilloscope's USB 3.0 To Host PC port. Refer to the Keysight P9241/42/43A
Oscilloscopes Startup Guide for connecting the oscilloscope to a host PC and
setting it up.
The host PC runs the oscilloscope's Soft Front Panel graphical user interface.
When the P9241/42/43A oscilloscope's driver is connected (the Soft Front Panel
graphical user interface can be connected or hidden), you can control the
oscilloscope using its remote interface from a controller PC. The controller PC can
be the host PC or it can be another computer on the network. In both cases, a LAN
interface on the host PC and a HiSLIP control port are used for SCPI programming
of the P9241/42/43A oscilloscopes.
Both the host PC and the controller PC must have the Keysight IO Libraries Suite
software installed.
When the
Controller PC is
also the Host PC
To get an oscilloscope's HiSLIP (VISA) address:

On the host PC, click on the Keysight IO Control icon in the taskbar and choose
Connection Expert from the popup menu.

In the Connection Expert window's Instruments tab, select the connected
oscilloscope under the LAN (TCPIP0) interface. In the Details for the selected
oscilloscope, you can cut the VISA Address (for the HiSLIP control port).
