Kamstrup High Power Radio Router GDPR (type no.: HC-003-85)
The High Power Radio Router module is installed in MULTICAL® 803 and serves as a router device in a radio network.
In addition, the module functions as an ordinary radio module and can be read via USB Meter Reader or a fully
automatic radio network.
The module is installed in MULTICAL® 803 without configuration and is ready for communication less than 30
seconds after mounting. The reading system now decides which data to read in the calculator.
The High Power Radio Router module is equipped with two radio channels and automatically detects whether the
communication takes place on the high-power channel (channel 1) or on the low-power channel (channel 2)
Channel 1 is typically used for communication between high-power radio network units, whereas channel 2 is used
for collecting data from, for example, a battery-powered water meter. This provides good stability and high security
when transferring data.
The built-in router functionality enables you to build a radio mesh network between the individual meters and the
central concentrator that controls the radio communication to and from the meters.
The RadioRouter module is available with both internal and external antenna. To achieve the best possible radio
coverage and range, Kamstrup recommends to use an external antenna.
The module is also equipped with extra pulse inputs for direct connection with other consumption meter, e.g. water
or electricity meters. Maximum cable size is 1.5 mm

.
Data security and data consumer protection must be ensured by applying individual encryption to the data registers
from the calculator.
See paragraph 11.5 for information about mounting of antenna.
