Flow sensor connection
MULTICAL® 803 has up to 6 pulse inputs for flow sensor connection where V1 and V2 are used for the calculation of
energy, while In-A1, In-B1, In-A2 and In-B2 can be used for connecting, for example, cold water meters and
electricity meters.
Meter factor and resolution of the V1 and V2 inputs are configured via the CCC code in MULTICAL® 803. If two flow
sensors are connected to V1 and V2, , they must be identical as the pulse inputs share their configuration. See
paragraph 3.4.3 for an overview of the CCC codes.
Depending on the application type, MULTICAL® 803 can be connected to one or two flow sensors for energy
calculation, see paragraph 7.1 for examples of application types. Typically, one flow sensor is used in heat or cooling
installations. This flow sensor is always connected to V1, regardless of whether it is placed in inlet or outlet.
The connection board with connection for V1 and V2 can both receive pulses from electronic and mechanical flow
sensors. This allows for connection of almost any type of flow sensor with pulse output. For flow sensors with 24 V
active pulse outputs see paragraph 8.4.

ULTRAFLOW® (Connection type 1-2-7-8)
Kamstrup’s ULTRAFLOW® flow sensors are supplied from the calculator and connected according to the table below.
The power consumption of ULTRAFLOW® is very low and at the same time, it matches the specified life of the
backup battery in MULTICAL® 803, see paragraph 10.2.

8.1.1
Auto Detect UF of ULTRAFLOW® X4
Auto Detect UF enables the exchange of ULTRAFLOW® X4 on MULTICAL® 803 without the need for changing the CCC
code.
MULTICAL® 803 can automatically adjust the meter factor (imp/l) and the qp value to match the connected
ULTRAFLOW® X4 via the function Auto Detect UF. Auto Detect UF is active with the CCC code 8xx.
