Manual Adjust EP F
Prior to starting the (manual/automatic) calibration, make sure that:
•
There must be no flow through the sensor (close all valves, shut-off devices, etc.).
•
The sensor must be completely filled with the medium to be measured.

Description
Diagnostics/Diagnostics Control/
Empty Pipe Detector
Empty Pipe Detector
ON/OFF
Preconditions for activating the "Empty Pipe Detec-
tor" function:
•
Only for nominal widths ≥ DN 10 and without pre-
amplifier
•
There must be no flow through the sensor (close
all valves, shut-off devices, etc.).
•
The sensor must be completely filled with the me-
dium to be measured.
The "Empty Pipe Detector" function detects an empty
measuring tube. In case of an alarm, the current out-
put assumes the state defined in the menu "Input/
Output/Current output/Iout for e. pipe" and the pulse
output is stopped.
Default setting: OFF
Adjust EP
The Empty Pipe Detection must be calibrated to the
local conditions. The switching threshold is set during
the automatic calibration.
Start the automatic empty pipe detection calibration
Manual Adjust EP F.
0 to 255
Manual calibration of the Empty Pipe Detection
The value must be modified in such a way that the
frequency for empty pipe detection (
Detector EP Val-
ue
) is close to 2000 Hz.
Threshold
100 to 60000 Hz
Switching threshold setting for the Empty Pipe Detec-
tion. The switching threshold is set during the auto-
matic calibration. A fine adjustment can be manually
performed by changing the switching threshold.
Detector EP Value
Display only
Display of the frequency of the empty pipe detector. If
the current value is above the set switching threshold,
a message is output on the LCD display and the
alarm is activated at the digital output, if configured
accordingly.
